Donegal Bees
Donegal Bees was founded in 2013 by Thomas Ellis, a beekeeper and skilled carpenter with a background in manufacturing. Áine Curran joined in 2015 and has brought extensive experience in customer services and office management, and is completing a degree in Apiculture. Donegal Bees is now co-owned and directed by Thomas and Áine, and is a labor of love driven by a passion for bees and the preservation of Ireland’s beekeeping heritage.
We strive to make beekeeping accessible to all by offering high-quality yet affordable hives and equipment. Our dedicated team, including Irish-speaking locals, works passionately year-round, with even more joining during the busy beekeeping season. Together, we champion sustainable beekeeping practices and proudly manufacture and produce the exclusive CDB Hive, Irish beeswax foundation, and more.
